My character is an import from BG1.
Human Fighter Strength 19 (Tome from BG1) Dex 17 Con 19 (Tome from BG1) Int 9 Wis 9 Chr 15 At 10th level he has 130 hitpoints. Is there a bias for the main character when rolling hit points? I never fiddled with his hitpoints using an editor. I also had the difficulty set to core so I wasnt gaining max hitpoints every time. Doesnt really matter. As a quick test I had my main character go one on one with that bad-ass Chaotic Evil dwarf fighter everyone thinks is so tough. Needless to say the dwarf was investing in a really short coffin in no time flat. As you can see I gave all the relavent tomes to my main character. I was playing BG1 with a multi-player party. so I have several other really good characters I can import when I play again. |
Are you sure wisdom affects magic effects? It says it does but the saving throws don't appear any different on my player character.

it's uh actually mag. def. adj. +4
got any ideas as what the hell that is???????? |
I was curious what everyone's player character's stats are. I spend a long time trying to roll the perfect ones. The kensai could definitely be a child of Bhaal...
Human Kensai (dualed to mage): Str dex con int wis char 18/00, 18, 18, 17, 3, 9 Half-elf Blade (if you try rolling a bard you'll see that is pretty hard to get): 18 18 16 15 8 15 Icewind Dale party of two: Half elf Cleric/ranger 18/00 18 17 3 18 11 Human Fighter/mage/thief 18/94 18 18 18 3 6 |
I've only played fighters and fighter/thieves, but they all have the same stats (sorta).
Str 18 Dex 18 Con 18 Int 18 Wis 12-16 or so Cha 3 Since you get the ring of human influence so early in the game I always sacrifice my charisma, which allows me to boost up the other skills. You can do the same with dex if you like, since you can get gloves of dexterity very early as well. |
18 strength is not too impressive for a fighter (I assume it has some fraction of 100?).
|
A'ight.
Human Fighter/Mage STR: 18/82 DEX: 18 CON: 15 INT: 17 WIS: 8 CHR: 14 |
Yes, it has some fraction of 100, for the fighters at least. The fighter/thiefs is dualled from thieves so they will have to go with 18. Dont remember the fraction exactly.
|
If you want the high strength just grab yourself a half-orc (19). You get the added bonus of an extra point in constitution and what you lose is not important for fighters and thieves. One little note of interest though. I built up my typical strong, agile, healthy fighter by swapping stats out of intelligence and charisma (I try to keep some in wisdom for better resistance) and ended up with a character that kicks but everywhere but near a mindflayer That lower intelligence attack killed me time and again.
|
What? you mean you get better resistance if you have more wisdom? Resistance against what?
