how do i kill tanove in the tomb??
i keep triing but it wont die!!

Dear Dennis,

She's one of the tougher ones you'll meet. Do you have the Mace of Disruption yet (from the blood pool in the NW corner of the tomb?) It's great for taking her out. Also, she puts up magical defenses, so have your mages cast Breach and Spell Thrust against her, or other magical spells like Secret Word, Pierce Magic, etc., if you have them. Make sure you Breach her, though, because that will let your fighter-types get through to whack her.

Just treat her like any other mage-type opponent in the game (dispell her protections, disrupt her casting etc.) That always works for me. True Sight is a handy spell to use against her, as she seems fond of Project Image, which can be dispelled by True Sight.

Mace of Disruption won't help you much. Nor any weapon that deals undead.

The problem with that particular Tanova is in files definition - she is bugged and NOT considered as UNDEAD.
The Tanova on the street and Tanova near the end of the game are not bugged.

As they said, use spells that remove protections.

Thanks, Extremist! I didn't realize that...they must have her listed as a mage, even though she *DOES* level drain, grrr!

Well, I was using Mace of Disruption on her, but everyone else was whaling on her with high-level missiles (Aerie with the Everard's +5 Sling), and that may have taken her out...anyway, after she was breached and the illusions dispelled, she was a cinch.

Last time I fought her in there I had a Prot from Undead scroll cast and walked in blindly with no other protection. She saw right through that and my char failed his save got held and soon died. So yep, not undead. [img]smile.gif[/img]
