My D drive is going bonkers. It will no longer read the cd's of the 2 games I play the most. BG2 and Homeworld, (sniff). I have cleaned them, sprinkled holy water on them and offered prayers to all the PC gods. Alas, to no avail. It still reads every other cd I use, just not my 2 favorites.

get asus... its one of the most reliable cd rom drives..
teac cd rom is nice too...

may the pc gods grant your wish (hopefully)

err.. i didnt read that its only those 2 cd's well...have you ever tried checking the cd's if there are scratches or something... by the way you reply to this post.. i say youve worn out or burned out the cd of bg and homeworld... =)

Download no-CD patches for the games. Makes them run faster and you don't have the loud whirring in the background.

Where do you download them Armisael? I am quite irritated with my 52 CD-ROM...

Funny, my Homeworld CD also is unreadable. They must be weak CDs. Fortunately I made a copy of it. Never did win it though.
