i obviously did not complete the four rooms properly to engage the chessgame. probably the arrow... AND through an uninstall/reinstall mess up, i have no previous savegames to revert to. is the chessgame integral to continuing the tower quest? i cant seem to progress from that level. am i just missing something boneheadedly obvious?

I don´t know exactly what you´ve done but this is waht yo have to do:

Complete the four elemental rooms, leaving the fire for the last. Once you kill the fire thing you will be teleported to the chess, and yes it´s integral cause you can´t follow without completing it

Ok, so the chessgame is integral. I dont have a savegame to revert to in order to complete the elemental rooms correctly. Massive oversight sure. So, how do i fix it. Does anyone have a savegame just before the elemental rooms that they can email me? I think i should be able to fix it with that.

Hi, Im having exactly the same problem. I have killed everyone in all four rooms, doing the fire one last, but for some reason I am not teleported after the last room is cleared. Any help would be great. Thank you.

Funny, I engaged the Chess game, but the sequence I did it was in the 'down the corridor' style:

1. Fire Room (where the exploding archers are)
2. Air
3. Slime
4. Ice

After finishing the last room, I was immediately teleported to the Chess game.

I wonder if you left one of the Invisable Stalkers alive in the "Air" room. There are three, and if you just stand at the door and kill everything you see, you may not find them (or they may not find you). Go back to the air room and march all over the acessable ground.

There are also some invisable stalkers in the room across the hall, with the unsanitary axe. If you just scout it out with a stealthy thief you won't be attacked by the stalkers, so you won't know they are there it kill.

Yes... It took me a while to figure that out about the invisable stalkers in the air room. This was before I found this utterly needed forum! Good call Sherpa!
