I was playing in the Bridge district last night and accidently cast a spell outside of the building I was about to enter. The Cowled Wizards showed up and told me "You were warned!"
turned red and attacked. I thought what the hell. I kicked everyone elses butt, so far, what makes you all any different. So I attacked them right back! After about five minutes everyone was dead except me and one of the four wizards that attacked me. I was panicked and strolling all over the bridge district. My question is this. Has anyone else fought them and what was the result. As you can see, my experience wasn't so good. But I think I'll keep trying until I win (if possible) just to see what happens.

Yes, and all of it bad! Seriously, I gave up casting spells outside until I paid for a "license" in both my games.

You can talk to a mage-type in the Coouncil bldg in the govt section (he's on the left-center as you enter the bldg) I think his name begins with a "C"---anyway ask what he does and how much a "license" costs, he'll tell you. Once you pay him, no Cowled wizards attack you if you cast stoneskin or something outside.

He does warn you that you shouldn't abuse it- but I don't know what constitutes "abuse"!

I did a two part thread on this one and got loads of responses. So check back with the search thingy to get some hints on how to deal with them.
