Hey, I was just wondering what the average amount of days (Baldur's Gate day's that is) to finish was?
What's normal, and what's fast?

If you are going for romances and a lot of quests etc, there is no normal amount of days. In my first game I played 28 days, my second, about 450, my third 18 days. I think I am one of those fast players, but now I don't mind if I sleep a little extra.

Currently, first game, I am on about 48 days I think, and have just entered the Drow city in the Underdark. I have not done anything like a direct route, though. I like doing 'side quests' to 1. Have lots of fun, and 2. Get lots of XP!

Are there any negative effects of taking an extremely long time?

Noo but in some quests do you have to act on time...

Longest, around 120~150 days. (damn Viconia romance took too long!!)
Average, around 80 days.

I'm at about 118 days, and in the Drow city. I've done every sub quest I can find. Astral Prision, Cult of the Unseaing eye, Windspear Hills, Umar Hills, Trademeet, Bridge districts, Slavers, thieves, Knighthood, most of the Graveyard, the three in the underdark, Astral Prision, Planar Sphere, Sewers, the fish peoples, Brynnalaws quests etc. Already maxed out most of my party due to this. I still have several Liches to rekill once I get back to the surface.

When I played the first time on 28 days, I didn't miss any quests at all except Kangaxx and some npc-quests (and of course strongholds quest)

When I played on 18 days ,I played solo with a /fighter/mage/thief, and did the quests that gave you the greatest items. So it wasn't very many quests then.

How much actual time spent = 1 BG2 hour/day
