In the dream sequence, I was asked to lose one of my stats... what for? do i recover it later? (nothing was changed before I wake)

It's permanent, I'm afraid, although there are a couple of opportunities later on to lose or gain more attribute points. Consider this, though: Do you need Strength with all the strength-boosting items about? Do you need INT if you're a fighter?

well if your allready down to 3 on the int I don't think you are able to remove any point there
