Being long time absent from game playing I was in a hurry to jump into the action. I created myself (what I thought) was a good paladin character and got underway.
Unfortunetly I just realized my intelligence is so low (11) I can't memorize any spells. Do I stand a chance to complete the game? Can I edit my character and raise his intelligence to a decent level? thanks |
Hello and welcome, Auvel!
Paladins use clerical spells, so they use Wisdom, not Intelligence. I've played Paladins with low Int, and never had a problem. You'll start getting spells around level 9, if I recall correctly. Don't worry until then :D -- Nifft |
Excellent. thanks

But if it really bothers you to have such low int, you can, if you're completely desperat, use Shadowkeeper to raise your int. And even if you couldnt remember any priest-spells, you'll have no problem going through the game. The paladin is a very powerful class, and in my opinion, the priest-spells is completely unnecessary. see ya! |

Bit maybe, but just for comparison: in AD&D 2nd E rules, which are used by BG, 8 is Human average for each stat. So, basically, 11 ain't that bad at all.

1000 posts Sir Exxon.....Congratulations
I agree, 11 INT is perfectly adequate for a warrior. [EDITS] Welcome to the board auvel
quote:
the priest-spells is completely unnecessary

Not true, there are many useful spells upto level 4 for paladins, to name a few, armour of faith (cast with hardiness = 65% physical resistance) Protection from fire will be really useful in ToB, negative plane protection is really useful for vampire hunting and remove curse is useful when playing with the deck of many things to name a few. I regret saying completely unnecessary, but I still think they are'nt necessary. Phew, that was alot of "necessary"s! |
Cool, every1's entitled to their own. I must have overlooked that IMO. My bad.
