I've read here that Firkraag can be cheesed with a "Magic Resistance" spell and then harm. What is this magic resistance spell? My highest level cleric is Virconia, whom can cast 1 level 6 spell. I also have an archer that can cast up to a level 2 druid spell, and a conjurer that can memorize up to 2 level 6 spells. Please help, I don't want to have to fight Firkraag in a fair way. (Goddamn, that Vampire room was a pain in the ass... Everybody but Virconia massively level drained!)

yes, this tactic works. magic resistance is a mage spell IIRC, itll be in the manual somewhere. IIRC, that thing does have a index, although so many manuals dont its hard to be sure w/o diggin it out and turning the lights on. the iedal sequence or this tactic is:

magic resistance (aerie)
harm(jaheira)
magic missile(nalia)

the names in parentheses are whho did it on my run through. magic missile is intercangable with many others, but the most relaible option in any case.

dont even think about flame arrow though. i dont think i need to explain why.

I'm doing a fake multi, so the only pc i didn't make is virconia... yes, I'm a dumbass, but what level spell is magic resistance, and will my conjurer be able to cast it?

The Magic Resistance spell is a cleric level 5 spell, Blue in colour as it an aidding spell. It is used to give a target magic restance but on Firkraag it gives him a new magic restance which is lower that his normal one and doesn't make him hostile as it's a aidding spell, I don't think this works if you have Tob installed, for me it seemed to make him stronger.
The Mage spell used to lower magic restance is the level 5 Lower Restance which reduces the targets restance my two or one points per casters level but is a attack spell and will make him hostile.

Thanks!

Actually, you can Magic Resistance without the cheese. Or you can ignore Magic Resistance altogether, and just have multiple mages shoot Magic Missiles at him. Firkraag isn't too much of a spellcaster, so the missiles make it through, while summoned creatures take him on. Just keep pumping new creatures at him while you throw those missiles, and he should fall.

Hell, I had the game set at Hard level, and used this approach as recently as last week (5th run-through). Worked like a charm.

Actually I think the formula is Lower MAgic resistance, harm, magic missle

Oh... there are plenty of ways to kill a Dragon with Magic without exploiting bugs and loopholes. ;)

There is no Harm spell--or do you mean physically harm him? Besides, Magic Missile damages the dragon without any previous resistance-lowering or spell-breaching efforts.

Harm is a level 6 Clerical spell. You cast it and have 2 rounds to successfully hit the target to reduce it 1 Hp. Magic Resistance will block the effect. Anomen is gold here, thanks to his low THACO.

Also, Magic Resistance does affect Magic Missile. Firkragg does not have 100% Magic Resistance, so some will get through.
