This is probably a stupid question...
Okay, so you're supposed to use fire or acid to kill the trolls once you've knocked them down. Where do you get the fire and/or acid to do this? Was I supposed to buy this back in town? (I'm on the slaver boat, meeting trolls for the first time).

If you have a guy that uses some sort of a bow,you can buy fire and Acid arrows in the Copper Coronnet.

There are several ways:
1) Spells such as flaming arrows, Melf's Acid arrow, flame sword...etc
2) Arrows of fire and acid are common in shops
3) Weapons like sword of flame, flame tongue, and the mighty Crom Faeyr (which is special attack against troll and certain other creatures and can KILL them in 1 hit).

I believe there were some acid or fire arrow in the stash in the room adjacent to the room with trolls. In most cases you can find all you need nearby (not super weapons, of course, but stuff like arrows and stakes).

Yes,there are some flame arrows in a barrel in that first,big room.There are LOADS of spells you can use but also wand of fire,apprenti,and that cool cleric one.

.Also when you do Nalia's keep ,if you keep talking to the captain in the palisade you can get endless flame arrows from him.

The guy with nalia gives you 20 fire arrows before you enter (if you talk to him).

I left that place with over 100 fire/acid arrows (100 of each).

Make sure you save your spells, fire/acid arrows until the trolls are knocked out. You can blow a fireball and take all but one HP of a troll, and he will still be invunerable to your weapons, but you can smack him with a weapon (unenchanted) until he is knocked out, and 1 or 2 damage with fire/acid will kill him. Unfortunately, the arrows allow the troll to make a saving throw, so it might take more than one, if the trol is lucky. I liked BG1 and Icewind Dale arrows/wands much better.
