Right now I have me,minsc,jahiera,yoshimo,aeire,and edwin? However my friend told me that I should get rid of edwin beacause he will leave the party and get into fights with jaheira. However he's an awesome mage with some nice spells. I also wanted Keldorn because I heard he was good what should I do who should I keepand who should I get rid of?

it truly depends on your playing style, but moreover what character you are... whether you are a tank or magic user has a major impact on who you should take =)

Actually, Edwin and Jaheria are fine, it is Edwin and Minsc that might be a potential problem. Who to get rid of will be determined by what class your PC is playing as. You already have Minsc and Jaheria, I am not sure how much more benefit if you get Keldorn (who is another tank). If you plan to get rid of Edwin, then since your party's spell casting ability will decrease, I suggest you dump Yoshimo for either Nalia or Jan (who both are thief/mages, Nalia being a better mage and Jan a better thief of the two).
