Always looking to increase the various ways of sending those hordes of evil creatures back depths of hell,
personally i like using summoning fire elemental as many as possible, while casting protection from evil, then protection from magic, usually from a scroll, this way i found is the best method of attack against the Demi-lich.

Have u any alternatives or better methods.

"Usually" from a scroll? How else are you going to cast Protection from Magic? I'm really curious what other ways you've come across, because it's not a spell you can learn in BG2.

Well there IS a prot. from magical energy spell.... eprhaps he was referring 2 that???

and a great way of defeating Kangaxx or the other Demi-Lich in ToB is casting Spell:Immunity and then selecting Abjuration, especially if you are a fighter/mage

And if you are doing it in chapter 6, then you can get Black blade of disaster scroll from Ribald and that will slowly tear him apart.

No, my mistake, it was from a scroll. But it was the best method i used for the Demi-lich. Why was it a spell that couldn't be learnt

Glorfindel 01-21-2002 12:53 AM

Because it is a protection scroll, those protection scrolls that have a green icon on them cannit be learnt :(

They're just too powerful. Think about it: it's a spell of perfect immunity to magic. There are no checks to it. The only way that it could be made usable by a party would be to make its duration impossibly short--and that would be ridiculous, like offering water to a man dying of thirst, only to pull it back at the last second.
