How does one go solo in this game? It seems to me that this would be impossible!! I mean, you would miss out on all the items that you have to steal and picklocks for... OK i CAN see a fighter/mage/thief doing it... (see my other post) I want to play a barbarian half orc soloist, which someone conviced me to do.. im bad with names.. uhhh, but how do you survive as such a character? If all else fails, i guess ill make a f/m/t... thanks...

It's not impossible ;) The infamous Dundee Slatern convinced me to solo with a Cavalier, and with the many kits I've soloed with since, I guarantee that you can complete the game.

There is a minimum number of items that are really useful to pickpocket (I can only think of 3 scenarios, Ribald, the Djinni in Trademeet and the Rebel Prince in teh Shaugin city).

Instead of stealing, you can afford anything you want as you don't have to fork out on equiping your party.

Locks can be bashed open with potions of strength and the innate ability draw upon holy might. In terms of traps, you just grit your teeth and run over them. (these are easier with bards/mages due to mirror image and stoneskin, but when your HP / saving throws become high enough traps are no problem anyway).

Hope this has boosted you confidence a little.

Enjoy your Barbarian.

Jim.

I guess you just don't get the items etc that you would normally be able to get. With a half-orcs strength you should be able to bash a few of the locks but the main challange of going solo would be that you can't take advantage of all aspects of the game JMHO.
