i am going on vacation, so i installed BG2 on my portable computer. i copied my favorite savd game over into its saved game directory. when i go to load, the game appears, but when i click on it the program closes and an error box appears saying there has been a runtime error. anyidea how to fix it so it works?

You have the latest version of DirectX on your portable computer?

I don't think it's the game problem. I do this quite often to fix my PC and it works.

P.S. Does it happen with u guys? I format my HD and reinstall windows. Reinstall all my utilities and games. After a month or so the system is so crappy that even defrag can't speed him up so i do the process again. I can't spend more than three months without doing it. This system sux.

the game works fine if i create a game on it, it only crashes if i try to use the one from my other computer, so i dont think its the directx

Patches? if you have a pathc on one and not on the other. I had a problem where the game crashed every time with a particulare save, but i made it work again by removing my chars innate abilitys.

when i move the save, i would put it in the other computers save directory, right? not the override?

Ok things to make sure of. All the files are going where there supposed to. Next PAtches and if you downloaded the experience cap remover or higher level rules make sure its all the same in the laptop. Visit www.blackislestudios.com and go to the troubleshooting page for people who deal with this regularly.

Try copying your override files from the main computer to the laptop, that might help.
