I was thinking about becoming a cleric but i would just like to know the immunitys they learn like the monk cannotbe hit by normal weapons at level 20, and does the cleric learn any harmfull spells
|
Clerics rock... not as good as they were in BG1 (IMHO... a cleric could walk through BG1 by themselves)
But they get really good buffs, heals, and damage spells Their low level ward spell can be shot at an enemy and do 20+ damage to it and all the enemies near it and this is a level 3(?) spell MY favorite damage spells in the game are all cleric spells.. false dawn is damn near the best undead barshing spell there is 6d6+per/level I think? as well as Harm (reduces enemy to 1hp) and Flamestrike is another great spell... The only problem is that clerics dont get really good offense spells until they are high level.. but when they do.. they get some REALLY hard hitting stuff... And turn undead is just fun... if you are good, you basically make undead explode without doing anything (throwing on sanctuary then walking through an undead dungeon w/ turn undead on is fun) or if you are evil, you gain control of the monsters instead of destroying them |
cheers for that but do they have good hp and i would just like to know what are there fighting abbility superman style, batman style or pansey boy style

CHECK THIS OUT:
My priestess of Lathander has: Lvl 12 17 str, 18 dex, 16 con, 10 int, 18 wis, 23 cha: Wearing: Ring of Human influence Plate of Balduran Saving grace +3 Flail of ages +3 Arla's dragonbane +3 Nymph cloak Pearly white ioun stone boots of avoidance sensate amulet With champion's strengh and righteous magic + draw upon holy might, she hits a tank AS WELL!!!! Point is that they can be a great back - up characters, icluding as a tank AS WELL!!! P.S. I'm not boasting, but what ya think about my priestess? |
Oh, and BTW, she has AC -9 and 88 hps.
|
Clerics are quite good fighters, they gain 1d8 HP per level (though they only get max +2 for high con), warriors get 1d10 (and up to +4 or +5 HP per level due to high con). There Thaco goes down by 2 every 3 levels (1 per level for fighters). And Clerics cannot get the extra high strenght like 18/xx. But anyway, for combat the clreic comes just after the warrior types (plus the cleric advances faster in level and can thus reach higer levels in the game).

Clerics fight "Batman" style: not earthshattering, but not pansey, either.
The best Cleric kit IMHO is the Priest of Helm. You have to be Neutral, but that's fair because the only non-Cleric romance option is Jaheira, also Neutral. Why Priests of Helm rock: Free True Sight. This spell is amazingly useful, and is level 5. The other Priest kits only get level 3 spells (though the spells are Mage spells, they're not that great). The Seeking Sword power: you get a +3 sword, and you get 3 attacks per round. This is one of the few ways a priest can rival a fighter, right through mid-levels. At high levels, of course, fighters blow this away. Still, your Priest of Helm is more useful in battle than most clerics, and that says a lot. -- Nifft |

Champion's strengh, righteous magic, draw upon holy might and Boon of Lathander? She had STR of 25 and DIDN'T need seeking sword to simply walk into fighters and cause sum carnage. |
Heya.....
You could start the game as a fighter/ranger class, assign 5 stars to flail or hammer, then dual to a cleric pretty much straight away. By the time you finish the first dungeon you could nearly be at a level where you will regain your fighter abilities. This way you could have a cleric which can get advanced specialisation in weapons, wear full plate mail, and have good hit points from the start. Actually, you would be very much like Anoman, but not such a big twat! I might try this next time around! Noober. |

Although I generally detest dual-classing, I might try that sometime! |
