Try using magic!

You can do it with ShadowKeeper.
Just remember that most of the monster avatars don't have a matching paperdoll (the drawing of your char in the inventory screen). Only monsters that you can shapeshift to one way or the other have a paperdoll.

I've done some mighty funny things with that Appearance tool in SK.... :D Giving my Assassin the avatar of a Shadow Thief (you know the guy who looks like he's dancing when he fights was only the beginning.

Want to make your Tank more impressive? How about Ogre, Half-Ogre, Sarevok, DemonKnight, Fire Giant.....Greater Earth Elemental?
You've got a female Mage/Thief? Why not a Sirene or Succubus?

But what held MY interest were all the silly ones. How about turning your entire party into Moose, or Myconids (those funky mushroom guys)? Or blend in when you're in the city--choose the Nobleman, Bartender or Harlot sprite sets. All except Anomen, of course, he gets the Rat.

(Note that many of the Appearances have their own walking speeds; the Shadow Thief walks almost TWICE as fast as a normal character. This needs to be corrected, if you want to play fair.)
