I've been busted alot of times doing illegal stuff in Vvardenfell, and everytime a cop walks up to me and says I have to pay the fine or go to hell .... errrr, prison. So I pay fines alot, but now I'm wondering: does paying these fines (doing illegal stuff) have any influence about your reputation in Vvardenfell? I mean, I'm a good character, I don't want a bad rep or anything. So, does it make a difference or does it simply depend on how much money you have, so you can do a lot of bad stuff?

i dont know the answer to your question but you say yer a good character yet your always breaking rules and paying fines?

I believe your reputation is based on your level, not what you do.

As for paying fines, the only negative aspect of being stopped by a guard is that you lose everything you have stolen.

when you caught doing something illegal, your reputation will decrease.

reputation has nothing to do with your lvl avenstar it has to do with certain quests and other good things you accomplish in MW.
like thieves/fighters guild. there is not a single point of reputation to be gained cause its not looked upon as right to stwal and or kill. but in imperial quests you can gain up to 17 points i think cause you help people out and do generally good things.

im a lvl 47 char right now and i got a rep of 30 only. i gained all of it from doing imperial cult, mage guild and a little of the temple guild.

oh..watch out for morag tong quests though, it's a real reputation blower. ;)
