1) what armour does everyone have currently, im on 169 which i think its pretty low but im not sure, doesnt bother me much cos nothing hits me most of the time anyway but would be nice to know whats achievable

2) glass has higher ac than daedric, leastways for gauntlets, so why do people say daedric is better, lower ac (only by 6 admittedly) and 3 times heavier, plus glass looks nicer is hvy armour automatically better than light ignoring ac scores or adding to them with an invisible value?

3) whats the single highest ac you can get on any one piece of armour and wheres that piece found?

The ac of armor increases as your skill level in that armor increases, if you wear light armor your skill increases which means the ac of the armor increases.

Im 100 skill in all 3, light, medium and heavy armor, dadric is the highest, but indoral and ebony come close.

But they weigh more than glass, but not a problem if you enchant them with increase strength so you can carry more, which is better than the feather spell (going on a little now and in a different direction, sorry)

By the way my armor is into the 300's but think that is with full dadric and a MOD piece of armor called 'Bilbos Mithril Armor' which has a 266 ac.

im not sure but think you can get into the late 200's with full dadric including the dadric tower shield.

I mix depending on what faction i am questing for, eg thieves, light armor if any. Warriors quests i wear Heavy armor etc.

I wear glass because I like how it looks

Ebony Armour looks good too but is too heavy IMO.

In end effect you could run around in your skivvies when your high enough level so its all about witch armour you like your character's looks in.

At last someone who is not just powergaming, They are my words exactly, I have a mixture of diferent armor and still wear the Black gloves you get from the Thieves extra quests.

If you looking for some cool armor get the MOD for coloured armour, you can have Glass, Dadric, Ebony, Ordinator any colour or the glass ones a mixture.
There is a Cave round the back of the mages guild in Balmora, it has a machine that you can change the colour of the original.

Yes you can. 242 with normal daedric shield (not tower) and helm of Orcyn Bearclaw (and wraithguard, which has the same ac as a daedric gauntlet). I guess you can get to 250 with the tower shield.
Obviously you need 100 Heavy armor skill (otherwise you won't get such a high ac - for example with Heavy armor 30 a daedric tower shield has an armor rating of 40)

In my opinion having a warrior with the best armor possible isn't bad role playing: warriors tend to feel better when they are best armored... It's just warrior logic, not powergaming, or at least not only...
For mages and thieves, the story is different, though...

I think Daedric looks cool, i like my armour black.

Rageheart 11-07-2002 05:27 PM

my armor rating is around 275. ITs like that cuz i have the belt of sanguine stolid armor, half my armor is daedric i have the Dragon Bone cuirass, the tenpace boots, helm of oryen bearclaw, and eleidon's word.

Grungi 11-08-2002 06:55 AM

aha so thats how armour skills worked, i assumed they gave an extra save, didnt realise they boosted ac, aha well my light armour has been 100 for ages my hvy armour isnt as good, okay that makes alot of sense though, so back to daedric again
