Alright, finally have gotten a critter I like. Have actually played more than run and reload.
Anyhow; Question 1: What does it take to create a constant effect item. I've gotten decent with enhancements. Question 2: What is so special about Daedric items, (say a Daedric Katana)? I roamed a little too far, and have managed to out-wit or 'pilfer' one. It is very heavy and slow, that I can tell. Question 3: How can one creat enhanced arrows? I 'acquired' some paralyze arrows, and do enjoy there effect. Thanks Felix |

1: Not sure, i thought at least a winged twilight was needed for that, but i could be wrong. 2: Imo Daederic armour is the best heavy armour there is, same for the swords. Nothing special about it, it just kicks ass. 3: I can buys those arrows at the fletcher shop in Vivec, but it's a plugin you'll have to download. It's worth the trouble though. |
I can only answer two of your questions, here goes:
1) Oh, here were go. Constant effect enchantments can only be done if the gem is worth 80K+. About the only way to accomplish this is to soulidify a Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper into a grand soul gem. 2) IIRC, Daedric items have the highest enchantment power; meaning, they take the highest enchantments (correct me if I'm wrong) Sorry I can't help you out on the last one. I would guess you enchant ordinary arrows much like weapons and armor, but maybe you've tried that? I'm not sure. [ 01-21-2003, 04:15 PM: Message edited by: Nanobyte ] |
1)Only the souls of Golden Saints, Ascended Sleepers and Lord Vivec can give you constant effect spells. Perhaps some new creatures in tribunal can do the same...
2)The best heavy armor is Daedric, and the best weapons are daedric as well. So, unless you find legendary items, Daedric is the top of the line for the trendy warrior with high armor requirements (and frost giant strength), and daedric is the weapon of choice of any adventurer. 3)Never tried that, but i guess you use normal enchantments... |
When enchanting, you need the soul gem (Grand with Golden Saint or Ascended Sleeper) and something that is able to hold a decent enchantment. Daedric or ebony armour etc is heavy, but it has more enchantment points. This means that I might be able to hold a fortify strength +20 as a permanent enchantment on an ebony shield, but this would be only about strength +2-5 on a steel or silver shield. Some unique items can handle more enchantments. If you want permanent enchantments with a decent size of effect, make sure you are putting it on something that has good enchantment points.

Even with Enchantment 100, the chances of you successfully creating a constant effect item are very, very low. Go to an alchemist or enchanter. You can improve your odds if you manage to raise stats/skills to the 300 mark I think. Can't remember where I saw that, but I think it's the only real way of standing a chance.
As for arrows, a limitation in the coding means that you have to enchant the individually AFAIK. I don't know any other way to "mass-produce" them. That's why most arrows have a minor enchantment on them e.g. fire damage 1-4 points etc. [ 01-22-2003, 12:55 PM: Message edited by: Lord Brass ] |
Okee dokeeee. First of all daedric have the best hit ratings, (except for those special swords in the book of one of a kind Swords) and the enchantment is super high. And enchanting arrows, well ive never done that, and i don't know that you can. If it doesnn't appear on your enchanting menu, then you cant enchant it.
