Two problems I need help with.
Still on level one dont seem to be able to level up. I had 9/10 on level one and increased speechcraft to 10. Rested for 10 hours still 9/10 Also cant seem to sneak manual says icon appears but nothing happens when I press l ctrl I have patched the game

put your mouse cursor on the word level. a number will pop up. does it say you have 9/10? okay, now you need to train one of your major or minor skill by 1. then it'll be 10/10 you can gain level up.

you must be nearby people when you want to sneak. just be in front of him, press CTRL and slowly move towards is back. the sneak icon will appear.

Well, when your sneak level is low, you had better start sneaking when nobody is there. The icon will appear anyway. Only then move to where you want to be and try to stay out of sight. Chamaleon spells help. If you do as Kakero says, chances are you will never be able to sneak at low skill levels :D

Only major/minor skills count towards level-up. Speechcraft is a misc skill for your character.

what's the point to having a miscellaneous skill anywho?

You would make all characters use only ten skills? That's too few even for a fighter, not to mention mages.

Because there would be no point if there were only 10 skills.

"misc skills" are bascily all the skills that could have been major or minor, but arn't. They have to go somewhere, what do you think they should have done?

if you have patched your game, misc skill is important as it raise your stats as well.

Thanks for the info. I have managed to level up but still absolutely no luck with sneak my skill level is 10

You need much more if you want to be a good sneaker... sneaking is difficult... my character with 100 Agility, 100 Sneak and 94 Luck still have great trouble pick pocketing...
