Hi
The mage who manage the teleporter in Ald Rhun has suddenly disappeared which is really annoying. That leads me to my other problem as I thought that if I did the first quest for the thieves in Ald Rhun, the mages guild would respawn and my troubles would be over. The thing is, they will not accept me in the guild saying something like " they have certain standards and I don't live up to those standards ". I am in Blades, House Redoran, Fighters guild and Morag Tong ( just joined the latter )and AFAIR the only contact I've had with the thieves was a codebook the Fighters guild wanted, and I got that without harming anyone. Does any of these House/guilds I'm in conflict with the Thiefs guild and/or is there anything I can do to " live up to their standards "? Thanks in advance C |
1. did you install the patch, that might solve it. or you could try come back later and she might be back.
or do this console command. placeatpc "npcid" 1,1,1 2. they will not accept you because either your skill or stat requirement is not up to the mark. 3. you already done the code book quest for fighter guild? then you can never ever be accepted to join theif guild anymore. |
I've done the codebook quest so that must be the reason I can't join them.
About the missing mage: I've the latest patch so the only solution must be using the console as you suggest. The thing is I've never used the console before, so I'm not really sure what to do. Should where you write "npcid" be substituted with a code for that particular npc and if so, where do I find that? Thanks for your reply C |
I can check it up for you, what's the missing mage name?
but I think you should learn to do this. okay, double click your TES : editor icon, wait for it to load, then go to data file and click on morrowind.esm press done. wait for it to load. after loading go to NPC section, search for the missing mage name. the first section is the mage id. jot that down. now enter your game, press ~ to go to console command. type. placeatpc "npcid" 1,1,1 then press enter. |
I did what you suggested and it worked fine, so thanks for your help.

Missing NPCs can be so frustrating, especially when you dont know they should be there... just be happy you're on PC, if you were on XBox you would be in serious trouble.

Are missing npc's a common problem?
I ask because I freed a woman from a shrine near Ald Velothi, and she claimed that her husband was waiting somewhere east. I wasn't able to find him so I just parked her in the area. C [ 04-17-2003, 11:04 AM: Message edited by: HammerHead ] |
it sometimes happen. however, the woman husband isn't missing. he is just on the road between Khuul and ald ruhn. or just south of the ruin where you found her.

I think my computer have a greater problem with missing NPCs than normal... they just keep on dissapearing... or maybe they are taken into Oblivion by angry scamps?

no, it usually happen because when you come to a new area, the game forgot to load them up.
