Here is what I have decided on

A almost full mage but using light armor and a bow for when I need to conserve mana

Breton (I was going to go dark elf but it seem's Breton has a better pay off)
The Apprentice as sign

Custom

Major
Light Armor
Destruction
Mysticism
Aleration
Marksman

Minor
Enchant
Restoration
Illusion

not sure about the rest

Any advice or help? gaping flaw's?

If your going to be a Mage get rid of Lite armor and get Medium because it sounds more like you wish to be a BattleMage and when you come up against the really bad guys all their minions Have long Swords and shields and they will slice you into little bites before you ever get enough spells off to slow them down and get yourself longsword or battle axe. even if you had Merlins spell book you will still need a kick ass weapon or you're going to die!!

Are you strictly roleplaying as a mage? then use this.

1. Alchemy. with alchemy you can create potions which may help save the day. also you can identify ingredient.

2. conjuration, well. since you are a mage why not?

or

short blade , I believe mage wield dagger which they call athane. so it will be practically right to get this skill.

Alchemy is a must for a mage and useful for anybody. Ingredients are cheap, potions are not. But if you brew them yourself you save a lot of money and can make them superpowerful.

Be traditional, get short blade. The renowned last-stand-weapon for a mage. Also there is a really good short blade in the game which you'll find most useful. too bad it comes really late.

I personally believe light armor is perfect. You can get the best light armor suit whenever you want (at level 1 if you wish, and are lucky), and it will serve you well until the end of the game. Medium armor is heavy to carry around and ugly to look at. IMO armor is either heavy or light, no compromises.

why is everyone alwasy so preocupied with armor? why not use unarmored and runa round naked? its more fun. okay so alot of people wouldn't talk to you but, all you need is a good hat in fact. run around naked with a really expensive high quality hat and they'll all compliment your dress sense. also i would take conjouration and alchemy and i'd put either conjouration or illusion and a major skill as there both very useful. i played a mage too (up till the point he bacame so powerful it was quicker to hit them then too use a spell) and i always regreatted not having conjouration as a skill. really hard to level up when your starting.

maybe he said the character can be naked as well. there's few advantages of being naked in the game. ;)

Yep, you needn't strip for uncle Crassius. But I'd guess as a mage you'd join telvanni.

I play an armorless mage and it is tough.
Can I enchant an item to recharge magicka? That would imply the existance of a spell that recharges it - not very likely.
Do bound armor spells count as heavy/light/medium/unarmored/niether?
Is there a spell that raises armor class?

Kakero 04-19-2003 09:51 PM

not such spell as recharge magicka, so can't enchant one with that effect/

bound armor count as heavy armor, good thing is that it is wiehgtless.

Shield spell raise armor rating. how many armor rating it increse depends on how strong the spell is.
