I haven't got the hang of the spell/enchant effects such as magnitude, range and the others. Could some kind soul explain them to me? For example, if enchanting a sword to do fire damage what do you use for, for example, duration and range?

Is it important to have a short or long duration? If the spell effect is 'Cast when strikes' is it enough to put in a duration of 1 and a range of 1? Does these effects count just for one blow of the sword or multiple attacks? I would be grateful for any help in this.

Thanks.

duration = how long the fire damage last on the enemy. Note : the longer the better.
range = how wide your damage will be (can be also known as splashing damage), if it's fire damage than with a range of 5 it's just like fireball. anything that is close within the range of the enemy will suffer the fire damage. Note : Never put anything on this one, just put it 0. there are some quest where npc will travel with you and they'll go angry with you if they are hit with the damage.

LOL That reminds me of that one time i had to accompany the wise woman of one of those tribes over water for a safe place for them. I was swimming and she was walking over the water, and i got attacked by a slaughterfish. I gave the fish a couple of blows with my sword, but she attacked the fish as well, and i accidentely hit her too.

Thank goodness i saved just before going into the water, otherwise i'd screwed up the mainquest. :D

Yeah, escorting someone can be troublesome. They hire you for protection and then they do anything they can to get in your way.

If I spot a monster or a potential enemy ahead, I allways ask them to wait and then pick them up again when the obstacle is gone.

Thanks for the help so far. One more question.

What about levitate? I assume Magnitude means how well it works but what kind of number is needed for it? 1, 8, 25, higher?

Thanks.

I think magnitude affects how fast you fly. The higher, the faster.

Yep. The higher, the faster. But your speed attribute affects that too. Once again, the higher, the faster.
