Okay once again.............i have found the books of kagrenac and the dwarf dude repaired the gadget for me........now there is just a slight problem of surviving the initial shock. I have tried fortify health but that does not work, wraithguard just kills off my regular amount of life and leaves my fortified health till it runs out. when i first put wraithguard on my health looks like this 116/0 and then decreases until i fortify my health agian. how can i increase my actual health without fortifying it with a potion or spell?

i don't know. you might have to just go up a few levels till your stronger. i've never done it this way.
quick question though, where were the books of kagrenac? i might do it this way myself (trying to beat the game at level 4 is fun!)

you need something like 225 hp or more to survive ...

B_part 06-30-2003 02:57 AM

300, IIRC. Depends on what spell wraithguard uses to deal the damage, and if it's a spell or a script: drain health spell should be countered by magic resistance, so if you get items like the cuirass of the saviour hide, you might easily reduce the damage. If the damage is scripted, on the other side, there is no way to counter it and you simply need more health, or perhaps a bit of TES

Edit: checked it TEs: the damage is scripted (player->modhealth) and is 200 + random25, so it ranges from 200 to 225. Get that health, or die. no other optionl.

quick solution: make butt loads of fortify health potion and shove that puppy on. then whjen it drain your health use lots of health potion to restore you actual health. might work but might not.

It won't work: the drain is instant. Unless maybe you equip the thing and BEFORE closing the inventory, you quaff loads of health potions. It might make you recover health so fast that you regain enough hit points to counter the curse in only one frame (the time it takes for the game to determine the fact that you have 0 hit points and you must die). It might work, it might not. Most probably not. Get those fortify health potions.

whats the equation for health (ex: Strength X Endurance =XHealth)?

B_part 07-01-2003 01:48 PM

I think it's something more like
basehealth + x*endurance, calculated whenever you level up.
x is bigger for strength based classes, basehealth is determined by class and race.
