Just started a new game. This time I'll discover the world of magic. Playing as a female mage/thief. Here is my stats. What do you think? No cheat. Took me more than an hour to role.

Str. 10
Dex. 19
Con. 11
Int. 18
Wis. 18
Cha. 18

Theyre pretty Sweet.... my best role was for a Ranger though I dont remember exactly what the stats were. But my best F/M has

Str: 18/93
Dex: 19
Con: 17
Int: 14
Wis: 10
Char 16

That kicked arse :D

Just a question, why didn't you boost up str and con and take some points offa cha and wis? Am I missing something here?

I know ya can get str items later on... but 10 str is a fast encumbrance....and you are going to use a familiar for more hp right?

19 dex = good ac bonus. 18 int =
cha = $$ saver?

High wisdom = more saving throws.

Well I think that a female mage with high str. and con. seems odd. Those figures are always low for a mage.

That's right, man it totally slipt pass me. I'm wearing down I think. Ya know, depression, booze, in-door air, and chinese food will do it to ya. Wait a minute, those are the highlights of my life right now; forget what I'm saying.

You planning to solo this character?

Jan 03-01-2002 03:46 AM

That's ok. I've done the same lot's of times.

Hmm? Good question. Na I'm not that good so I'll try some of the other NPC's. Haven't tried all of them.

Wow!! dodnt know that.... I just thought it limited your speach choices

Yeah, its strange how they dont include that in the manual. Higher constitution would be better because you would last longer if you were attacked. And a high strength would mean that you would have combat bonouses. And I know mages are not designed for fighting, but there are spells (tenser's transformation) which enhance your fighting abilities. And the thief half would need those stats. I would have put your Cha down because you get the ring of human influence early on, so you wouldnt really need it that high.

I remember now in a thread a few days ago that Memnoch said high wis means better saves. I keep forgetting some of the essentials.

Limited speech choices? Serious???

If you aren't planning to solo, then no worries. I've played with Aerie solo lots though to know I wish she had a higher con or more hp. It just bugs me that npcs don't get to have familiars too.

Like the info with the wis, I'm sure I can easily look at the con table to see where it cuts off at. I'm looking at it now and it gives two numbers. The first is a regular adjustment and the second seems to be a bonus adjustment but I thought this only applied to fighters. Am I correct or can any class receive the second adjustment too if their con is 18 or higher?

Con 15 gets +1, 16 gets +2, 17 gets +2(+3), 18 gets +2(+4)

So if that does apply -per level- to mages too, that's alot of hp. If it's fighters only, then bummer.
