Is it possible to fight in the arena?

It is possible but only if you aspire high enough with certain factions. And it isn't as glorious as you imagine it will be. Prepare to be dissapointed, that is the honest answer.

Let us summarize: Fighting in Arena is a task of certain quests in the game. You cannot decide yourself that you want to fight there. You need a quest.
