Hey, all. I decided to reload the old BG1 and I went to Bioware's site to download the patch for Baldur's Gate 1. Now I find out that they also have a patch for Direct X 8 English patch. Is this needed for BG1? I ran it before under Direct X 8.1 without even knowing that there was patch for it. Also, Tales of the Sword Coast has a Direct X 8 English patch. Is this needed, too?

if there is a patch, then it is needed... if you want a bug-free and optimal gameplay, this is the way to go... but then the game is playable without them. so there. it is up to you. ;)
