I bought the Diablo battle chest series, and d1 instals fine, but d2 will not instal, it is telling me it can not locate the D2CHAR.MPQ file, however, i kow it is on the cd, because when i run the drive to open the cd, it is right there, in open sight, why is it not finding the file, and how can I get it to instal? or am I just screwed out of my money on it?

Try the official tech support forum. If not then send it back and get a refund/new copy.

Possibly at blizzard.com or battle.net. Most likely the former.

I would exchange, if I still had the recipt, but it got lost somewhere, I sent them an email, they told me to copy the file, and place it in the d2 directory, but it will not copy, says redundancy check, or something like that :/

Cyclic Redundancy Check failure means one of the files isnt reading correctly. The common cause is a dirty/scratched CD or a dirty CDROM lens. The former, clean the CD. The latter, get a CDROM lens cleaner and run it through the drive.

now that you mention it, I looked at the cd, and there is a couple of deep scratches :( guess I did not want the game that bad
