What exactly does the Robe of Vecna do for you?

It reduces the casting time of all your spells by 4. It gives you +10% magic resistance too, and maybe one or two other boons which I can't remember off the top of my head right now, but that casting time bonus rocks!

It also lowers your base AC to 5. J'aran mentioned everything else.

The Bracers of Defence AC 3 make that pretty obsolete, but yea, it's handy for Kensai/Magi who can't wear bracers.

lol yeah those bracers are awesome... they come in handy... those things kept the nasties from damaging my caster many a time...

If you have the bonus-CD-merchants-patch, you can buy it from Deidre, in the Adventurer's Mart. If you don't have the patch, go here to download it.

It can be purchaseed from Deidre, who stands in the rear of Adaventure's Mart. She was one of the bonus merchants that was included with the special edition of SoA or ToB. These merchants can be dowloaded for free from several places on the web. I originally got mine from Baulderdash, which is still on the web, but may have changed its name.
