You would think they would bring out BG3 as they left the story wide open for a sequal.

Very strange news because interplay doesnt have a pc games division right now.

Well nobody is so retarded that they can ignore that baldurs gate was the best selling crpg ever forever.
Whoever whatever whenever, I can believe there will be a baldurs gate 3. Someone somewhere wants some money so it will be done. How long it takes I have no idea.
If interplay now decides they own it lol well theyll sell it to someone less retarded. I dont really understand the details to tell you the truth.

Technically, Interplay DOES have a PC division - it's called Black Isle and, despite the rumours, it DOES still exist. BiS has been gutted badly by the layoffs so it remains to be seen if they could handle the project. Interplay could also still outsource the project to another group - perhaps Feargus Urqhuart's Obsidian games.

The biggest issue over the death of BG3 was the loss of the license and apparently THAT issue has now been solved.

Well, they'll probably just make another FR game and call it Baldurs Gate III.

warnie 02-12-2004 12:02 AM

well , thats been a eye opener let me tell you...

SpiritWarrior 02-12-2004 04:54 AM

Could you imagine the standard they now have to meet? There will undoubtebly be crititcisms from the numerous whining RPG-kids, Plus the engine is obsolete and 2d is a thing of the past so the only thing to do is revamp both engine and graphics...pretty risky if you ask me. I suppose the main question is can they take afford to take that risk?

Sio 02-12-2004 05:11 AM

<font color="Deepskyblue">Personally I hope that if this does go ahead that they dont change the graphics engine. The 2D looks great, and it'd be a shame to make it look something like NWN (even though NWN looks great.
