A guy with a minigun strapped to one arm and a chainsaw on the other running around in a city while being attacked by horrendous space mutants, hippies, etc
-All vehicles are usable. -Intricate plot (see above) -Half life 2 engine -intricate rag-doll engine -Ziroc as bunnyhopping, madman boss w/ near infinite HP and unlimited ammo( I'm trying to make as close to life as possible) -Secret Hidden boss Choc, even harder then Ziroc Well what do you think? |
I think it would make a great Ironworks minigame!

Does anyone here know the HL2 source code Legally? otherwise we'l have to go retail.
|
Er.... any idea how big and ingenious the HL2 source code actually is, Sir G? That's not something that comes on 2 A4 papers you know
|
you cant "know" it legally, unless you are the owner guy, whats he called again?

I have a program called "The Games Factory" by Europress (it came bundled with PC). Without knowing ANY programming knowledge, you can create 2D games. Perhaps I could create a 2D prototype?
Note - Don't expect a marvellous, perfect, flawless game. It's just going to be a prototype testing the abilities and boundaries of the game ( If there are any ), K? Graphics won't look great, controls may be quirky, gameplay may seem fruitless (wow, first time I've used that word) and sound may not even be incorporated to save space. Oooooh, I'll be having fun tonight , great idea Sir Degrader! |
Better with a game who place you in an deserted planet in the space with tons of "strange" computers and stuff ala System Shock and and find a way to get the hell out of the planet a big game with 50 levels or something that would be great.
And with a play time +50 hours!!! [ 04-19-2004, 05:01 PM: Message edited by: Megabot ] |

Otherwise, turn to an engine that is freely available. The freespace engine is nice, difficult to make an FPS from though. but then FPS are so common these days that thats no loss. I know that Quake 1 and possible QuakeII are available. Sure, they dont look as nice as modern offereings, but they are still good engines. |
