Again sorry about the bad wording last time.

Right, A London clinic is planning helping a infertile woman to have a child. It will be proudce from the sperm of her brother and a donner egg, yet people are complaining that this is incest as by law the woman who gives birth to the child is its mother. Now I can't see a problem with this situation, how about you guys

(Better? and again sorry)

It's worded much better, Gabe. You're now presenting a controversial issue for public debate rather than implying that the issue is ok without providing facts to substantiate (which you were earlier). Well done and thanks for taking the time to rephrase it. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I assume incest is Innzucht sounds the same anyway. I can't really see a problem with this - the woman may legally be the mother, but not biologically, and the problem with incest is biological, i believe.

Seeing as it's from her brother and a donor egg, it's not *really* incest as traditionally defined so I think it's ok. There's none of the inbreeding risk traditionally associated with incest and none of the social and emotional issues that arise in those traditional cases.

Will this child be ridiculed in life though? The brother will, biologically, be the father, but really the uncle in family terms http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../hollering.gif

Why could she not find another donor for the sperm? For me, I would never consider being a donor for my sister if she were infertile...it just raises too many 'oddities'

Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig
I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

Thanks Gabe...I don't know what happened but I returned and saw the title's been rephrased and the previous post replaced. Thanks!
