Aaliyah who died in a plane crash in the Bahamas last Saturday... I should have done this maybe earlier, but I would just like to commemorate this post or the thread to her and what she has did in the music industry as well as movies... She rising to stardom... why did it have to happen?

Geez... maybe bad things happen to good people... who knows?

A little piece of info that reached me ears

The Pilot was an ex-confict that was in jail for selling airplain parts in order to pay his crack addiciton. This was his first flight after he got free. It is however not his fault in my eyes as he has done his time and was drugfree.

Another thing was that the plain was overweight with about 1000kg
It should have never given a clear for liftoff
they did get it however
Adn tragedy struck

It's Sad her promissing live had to end in such a way
Rest in Peace

I agree that it is a tragedy that she should die that young, but what bothers me a lot about this is that 8 other people died in the crash as well, they hardly got mentioned on the news, it really bothers me that, and also, in another forum that I frequent, someone mentioned this crash, but he also didn't mention the 8 other people who died, it seems that, to some people, they didn't even exist.

It is a VERY sad tragedy for all concerned. Has anyone ever considered that musical artists need to stay away from planes? Aaliyah was the latest casualty in a long line of casualites, among them being:

Richie Valens
Buddy Holly
The Big Bopper
Ricky Nelson
Ronnie Van Zandt (Lynyrd Skynyrd)

just to name a few...and I know there's more, I just can't think of them right now.

Voices that are stilled, silenced forevermore. Songs left unsung, melodies that may have been, that can never be. A true tragedy.

Very well said Neb!

It really is sad that we forget the other 8 people on the plane. I hazard a guess that they were just as productive members of socity as she was! They probably had family and friends and are missed terribly.

Why just remember the famous! I don't mourn their loss anymore than anyone else!

I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

Dont mean to be a prick, but is that really such a tragedy?
Its not like she's gonna get "Aaliyah Pie" anyway..

Famous people seem to block out the real casualties of a tragedy..
Honestly speaking, who's gonna remember Aaliyah in 3 years, dead or alive? So what makes her different from the other people whose lives ended in that crash?

Oh, she'll be remembered...see her death opened the door to production companies to make another truth-based-tragically-ending movie, like with Selena, Buddy Holly and any others that have such tributes.
Being a "minority". the movie is sure to be made and highly publicized and will bring recognition to the actress that portrays her, not for her ability to act but for "being" Aaliyah in the movie.
Sad but true.
There were other member of Lynard Skynard that died in that same crash but no one seems to remember who they are either...another sad fact, not to mention they were rowdy white southern boys who are undeserving of their own movie!

Long live Randy Rhodes...another great loss via plane crash.

Well said. But I dont think the tragdey is that she died so young. I personaly hated her music. But it still sad that she could have had a whole life in front of her

So if in the forest look behind you, because that where the ranger is going to be

The ranger looked at the place out side of the elven town near the river, he looked near the rocks, then they showed the way to....

The others who died are known
But only with the people who known them before
Ypu cannot say
"They died with a celebraty so we gots to know there names too"
People die everyday
But if someone dies who meant something in your like
be it celebraty, reletive or friend
You are gonna remember that
If someone else dies
you take no notest
That's the way our human feelings works
That's the reason why we know Aaliayah died
while we probably would have heard about it if she wzsn't in that plain

About who would have known Aaliyah in 3 years dead or alive
well
She has a very promasing career
not so much as a Singer but as an actor too
She probably would have been famous in 3 years if she hadn't died
You can see that in people
Some are soon to be forgotten and some are not
and i myself think Aaliyah was one of the second catagory

A tragic lost not only becoz of the loss of a human live
but also because the loss of chilrens symbol and hero
