Ive just started a new solo game with the classic fighter/mage/thief multi class. Now is it just me or is this really hard to play!! Ive made it out of the opening dungeon and sorted the circus out and ive had to rest so much im already on the 6th day!

Ok my questions are when soloing, are you allowed (ok maybe not the right word to use) to just pick up one character for a certain quest then dump them after (for example taking nalia to her keep).

I was also thinking about having another character (vic or ariae(spl?)) so i can have some romance in my game(jaheria annoys me). Has anyone done this before, i think its quite a good idea. Obviously ill be doubling :D and not soloing, would be quite cool though having a tag team throughout the game.

now a question about the multi class thing. Does each class go up to 2950000 or the three get divided between that figure, i think im gonna put the xp cap remover on anyway. also multiclass - when the thief gets use any weapon thing does that mean i can wear armour and cast spells? is there any armour i can use at the moment which allows me to cast and use thieving skills, or should i just try and get the vecna robe?

cheers for reading

Well... When I solo I usually rest ALOT more often than in non-solo games..... as for ALLOWED to... yes of course u are ALLOWED to... but then it obviously isnt Truly Soloing it.... U just seem to miss out on certain things u cant get to... bit as a f/m/t there should b anything u cant get to due to death traps or locks ... and same with the romance thing... u can do it if ya want... but that means it isnt SOLOING it properly ... and unfortunately for the XP... it can only get up to a total of approx 3000000... not in each part.... but is ToB it can get up to a total of 8000000

No, Use Any Item doesn't enable you to cast spells while wearing armour - or to use thieving skills while wearing armour other than Leather, Studded Leather and Hide (with a few exceptions). You could try to get your hands on a suit of Elven Chainmail, it allows the wearer to cast wizard spells and use thieving skills. Unfortunately, those aren't available until fairly late in the game. Until then, it might be a good idea to carry around a suit of the best armour you can find and a Mage Robe (yes, Vecna's is the best), so you can switch between the two - wear the armour if you want to melee, wear the Robe, best in combination with Bracers of Defense and a Ring/Amulet/Cloak of Protection, if you're going to cast spells.
