Does anyone know if there are any uses for those empty potion bottles you can get in the guarded compound in the Temple district???

No, no use at all. They were probably intended to be part of a quest that didn't get implemented in the final version of the game, and I guess the Biowarians simply forgot to remove them.

Yup, those were for an extended version of the smugglers quest.
