when you use an example, please be precise. it is VERY annoying that someone who uses a bad supposed-to-be-good-example, and having someone else to disporve it.

But I do see your point, it is annoying when people give irrelevant historical examples. Someone mentioned 'Pearl Harbor' the other day, comparing it to the terrorist attacks on the WTC. Needless to say, I didn't waste my breath correcting the person in question, as I have better things to do with my time.
