In the underdark as you know there is a passage that leeds to the Mind Flayers dungeon, in there we are caugth and so on, the question is how do you open the doors that say "To open these doors is needed a very powerful mind or a godly power" or something Like that.
In the first door that appeard that i took sometime to realize that we have to use the collars to control a mind flayer and then use them some how, i used the collar and when the charm was over the doors opened and then those guys that look like monkeys or whatever they are came throw a portal and talked with me.
Until here everything ocurred as it should be i think, but after doing some other things you reach to the door that leads to the main mind or whatever is called, that door says the same and so i try do the same but it didn't work and i was forced to Shapeshift into the slayer form losing 2 points of reputation.

What do you think?

I'm not entirely sure of what you're saying, but if you are still wandering around the Mind Flayer Lair and can't get out, then you need to collar another one to get more doors open, because you probably haven't gotten into all the rooms yet. You can get up to 4 collars from the machine. If you can't find any more flayers to control, (ie. you killed them all) then I imagine you'll have to go back to your last save.

I didn't encounter that problem, and I was just at that point a day or two ago. I used the collar to dominate a flayer (if you've killed them all, one always seems to regenerate in the room with the blood). Then I select him and one other party member and point them to the door together. I make sure they are both in the vicinity of the door, then click on the door, and it opens. I don't think you can just have the flayer selected though to open the door. Make sure you have a party member selected as well. Hope it works.

I was always able to find another one in the room with the Illithid serum (the big red vats.) You may have to rest to give them time to appear.

the mind flayer in the room with the illithid serum actually does stop respawning after a while (like 30 times or so). All you have to do is collar him, walk him over to the door, and wait. it should open by itself, which causes the flayer to attack you. I never had any problems.

BTW, the unused collars can be really fun sometimes. They charm without a saving throw, so non-charm immune creatures will be at your disposal for thousands of game hours. Kangaxx, Firkragg, Irenicus, Bodhi, etc. will do your bidding. Unfortunately, they cannot leave the area they were collared in. too bad. Also make sure not to collar a party member for ANY reason, including them being dominated/charmed/etc. or they won't be able to talk EVER!!

Some people have even collared Irenicus and made him Disintegrate or Finger himself (no pun intended) :D

I already shapeshifted into the slayer and already made the entire quest but i was just wondering about it.

I made exactlly what you have just said, i put the flayer in front of the door and tried to open it and it didn't worked, then i tried to wait for the charm passed out and it still didn't work so, SLAYER.

Of course, I've used the Slayer ability up to 2-3 times in the mind flayer dungeon (with protection from charm/domination, of course, and pumped up with spells). It's just sooo fun to kill hth 10 or more illithids with my Mage

/me notes you must use Mind Flayers, and not Ultilids.

Are you sure you 'collared' a Mind Flayer?
