Who has heard of this case and what do you think of it? I've been following it for a few years as it comes up on the news. Once again her appeal has been turned down. I feel she is quite lucky to not be serving the life sentence she was originally given. This case has gotten a fair amount of publicity over the years, just wondered if anyone else had heard of it and what they thought of Lori Berensons sentence and her chance for pardon. My opinion is she knew what she was doing, but has served enough time. She should be pardoned and deported to the US. I think she has learned her lesson in meddling.

i think she should be released inmediatly. the former govnmt was corrupt to the bone, with the secret police bribing senate officials, army, judges and whatever they could in order to fulfill their shady political agenda. the former president is now in exile, his top collaborator in jail, and the rest nowhere to be seen.

i dont deffend what she and her fellow tupamaros did but it was a case of a revolution against a corrupt, murderous and injust goverment. also, she was convicted by hooded judges, with almost no right to self defense. i only hope new president toledo does the right thing and sets her free.
