Just wanted to announce that LOTR won 5 Bafta (British Academy of Film & Television Arts) awards, the UK equivalent of the Oscars. Amongst others, LOTR won the awards for best film & best direction.

Harry Potter, otoh, although nominated for 8 awards, won none.

Best actor went to Russell Crowe for his role in "A Beautiful Mind", while Best Actress went to Dame Judi Dench for her role in "Iris".

Here's what I think of LOTR.

LotR really deserves all these arwards! Well done!

LotR really deserved those awards.
But its good to see that Orlando Bloom got nothing, just because my girl friend talks about how sexy he is 24/7... She doesn't even wait until i'm not around. I'm fed up of saying "If i was into men i would be all over him" just to keep her happy.

Yeah, I watched the whole thing, LotR richly deserved every one of the awards it got, and I'm extremely happy at the Harry Potter film not getting anything... pales in comparison to LotR and others.
Also, Stephen Fry was a great presenter.

Yes, I also read that LoTR got nominated for 12 Oscars, (third highest ever, after titanic and another movie i'd never heard of had 13 each)

Happry Potter is the 2nd highest grossing movie worldwide, altho it didn't do that great here in the states, just some FYI
