because i feel like posting a random topic, and everyone appreciates some good one-uppance, i would like everyone to post the highest backstab damage they have ever recieved. My highest ever was a critical hit Assassin backstab at x6, dealing a comfortable 152 damage. fun.

feel free to post other ridiculous things, like Thac0s, ACs, and Saving Throws. for instance, my 7th level elven Archer with 19 dex, 18 str, and a composite longbow (longbow +++++) had a thaco of 0. kinda low for Irenicus' dungeon, don't ya think? no cheating either. anyone with hacked or cheated characters that posts them here will be executed. (don't ask me how, i'll find a way [img]graemlins/evillaughter2.gif[/img] )

i have a screenshot of my fighter/mage/thief doing around 231 damage or somestuff. of course, i was high level, and had critical strike. so i backstabbed for maximum damage. it was great!!!! if someone tells me how to post a picture of my screenshot, ill put it up as proolf.

whats a backstab and how do you do it?

A backstab is a theif only attack. You enter stealth mode, walk behind your target and attack. If you connect you have a damage multiplier that depends on your level. Some monsters like dragons are immune to backstab...

A backstab is when you are invisible(hide in shadows, or invisibility) and you get behind your opponent and then attack him. My highest was with a kensai/thief lvl12/26 with kai activated and backstabbed at 7x(don't know how i did this, i wasn't dualled to a assassin, but i still got 7x) i got a nice 269, which i liked a lot

nice! i can't imagine much other than a dragon (or the Demogorgon) surviving 231 damage at once. Not that dragons are affected by backstabs anyway...

as for backstabbing, it must be done with a one-handed bladed weapon that can be used by thieves. So, Valygar's katana cannot backstab, even though it says it can, unless you download the Baldurdash patch.

Currently, my Dwarven Barbarian has saving throws of 2/5/6/6/4, (no modifiers) and im still in Chapter 2! Level 11! pretty soon, he won't even need magic resistance!

also, what's the highest stat anyone has naturally achieved? NO CHEATING!! importing your character repeatedly into BG1 to get all the tomes is cheating in my book, and it should be in yours. I think constitution(23): 19 for dwarf, 1 for tome, 2 for hell (evil), and 1 from Lum the Mad. Any others?

Odd as it sounds, my most brutal Backstab to date is from BG1, not BG2: A Fighter with 18(something) STR Dualed to Thief. She got a Critical Quadruple for 144 damage, and in the final battle too! Nice. :D

For THAC0, I think Archers regularly go down as far as -19, and I believe that's with normal arrows. My question is, if Bard the Bowman was able to kill a dragon with 1 arrow because his aim was so good, why can't my Archer do the same thing?

Stat-wise, I went straight for the Munchkin Award when I rolled my Half-Elven Cleric/Mage: 5/18/18/18/18/18. Now, after the Crom Faeyr, Hell and Lum the Mad, he's 25/20/21/20/23/21, and the Deck of Many things should also add a further point to either INT or WIS. Yeah, the Demogorgon's stats are better, but not by much.....
