I've never encountered this problem before ...
But when i'm fighting the group in the den of seven vales, i allways flee , ehr .. i mean, retreat tactically in a rather fast way ... downstairs and finish 'em off one by one there.

This time however, the game simply copies the characters, but LEAVES the original enemies on the 2nd floor.
I've killed 2 mencar's and 3 Smaeluv's .. 2 imp's, 1 wizard and 1 Brennan risling sofar.
And still the originals await me upstairs ... my 8th lvl kensai cant take that much more.

I have ToB installed, and the complete baldurdash fixpack ( which fixes all SoA and ToB problems). So .. should i try installing the fix-pack again, or is there another solution ??

Plz help

WOW! That is seriously weird... but why do you bother to retreat?(If your soloing then it makes sense) It isnt a hard battle, you could just run outside so that the gaurds kill them for you .... and then go up and kill them off properly

Unfortunately, my 8th lvl kensai cant face all of them at once ...
surprisingly he makes most of his saves vs. spells, but with his AC, hes getting backstabbed, crushed and sliced all at once, not a good thing :(

Hmm.. well maybe you could try coming back to it later?? I dont ever take them on straight away when soloing

I have faced a identical problem - but it was when fighting liches - either in the Bridge District or in the Gate district. When It was 'worst' there were 3 (elemental?) liches chasing me around the Bridge District

The solution: KILL THEM ALL - extra XP

that is really weak you know that. i got my massed up paladin with turn undead lvl32 and you know that lich in the city gates area guarding the daystar. well i go into the crypt leave, let him come out then reenter.1 more follows back in then i leave that room and hes still in the outter room now 2 more join i keep doing that nback and forth till i have about 100 liches all in one room. turn on undead then presto lich gibs everywhere. enter the room again there is still a 100 liches waiting exit (repeat as needed) till every one of your characters are maxed out in exp. then hey there are plenty of rings of invisibility for you to pickup afterwards and sell. oh another thing did you know the lich actually attacks with its hands after it uses up all its spells?

I had the same problem, when playing solo it seemed to happen with all enemies though not just mencar and his team. This made the slave lords near impossible to beat with my lvl 14 assassin.

a much easier way is to only exit the room when he starts casting a spell. it gets interrupted, and he will RARELY respawn. it also doesn't require a 32nd level paladin in the beginning of the game. :D

i import my character into new game. and to answer your question i have such high magic resistance that the lich does nothing to me, i let him waste all his spells on me till he has nothing left and is forced to attack me by hand.then i let him multiply
