I just saw a report that said the Commissioner of the NFL has asked Mr Ridge for Federal protection at the SuperBowl on February 1 2002.

I wonder if there is fear connected to the 1977 film Black Sunday? Synopsis follows:
"An Arab terrorist group attempts to blow up the President at a SuperBowl in miami's Orange Bowl. Tension ia maintained throughout."

(From the Video Movie Guide 2001)

Makes you wonder...if?

A similar scenario takes place in Tom Clancy's "The Sum of All Fears" with the added twist that the terrorists try to detonate a nuke at the game.

In that book they do detonate it, but it doesnt go fully off. However it did wipe out the stadium area. I think it was Minnesotea vs....Denver but cant remember for sure.
