All 15 member of the European Union have agreed to take part in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, with UK taking the lead role. This is the first time all 15 member of the EU have acted together militarily.
A nice showing, I think, of the solidarity of the EU, and it's effort to help Afghanistan. |
I just hope that they can all cooperate with each other. I think Afghanistan deserves peace now.

I did see a BBC article about the smaller EU nations complaining about a developing "inner" circle of nations with the largest military forces. But, of course, there will be complaints about anything done by a large group. I think the important part is that they have unanimously agreed to work together in Afghanistan.
