Hi all,
I just finished the Temple Ruins section. I entered the dragons lair with the stone. I saved before and wanted to see how bad this dragon was. So I attacked him. I instantly casted all the magic missiles to disrupt his spellcasting, but he managed to pull of his spell trigger once. My main character (kensai lvl 11), was affected by his confusion spell. The picture of the confusion appeared on his picture, but he was not actually affected cuz I had Lilarcor equipped. Then the dragon started slaying my comrades, fired a hold person spell and among others, my PC was held. Then the dragon the killed off my NPC's and when he did that he turned around and stood there! My PC's hold person wore off and I attacked him, but the dragon didn't responded and so I killed him. It was the darndest thing I ever saw. I have to say that when I reloaded, this didn't happen anymore (i saved after I killed him offcourse ;) . Did anyone encountered this before? Yo, Zuvio. |
Your Kensai must have been holding the wardstone, and when he got held, became labelled as non-dangerous, so he effectively became invisible to the Shadow Dragon again.
Nah, actually I am just pulling that out of thin air. You just got a lucky break. |
dragon spellcasting cannot be interrupted. They can see invisible creatures, are immune to backstab/normal weapons, and can use their breath an infinite number of times a day. (really like 500/day, but what's the difference?) Most all of these (and other) traits are given to them by an undroppable ring.
And i agree with Dundee. You got lucky with the faulty AI for dragons. With ToB installed dragons are not nearly so docile and stupid. Try not to take advantage of AI too much. But, if it was just me, i would reload, seeing how everyone but your PC is dead. :D |
