Only the main character can cast the spell.

Why, actually, can the protagonist only find a familiar?

It wouldn't be so 'special' otherwise I guess. It would also be confusing to have familiars for everybody. If you want a familiar try using CLUA. Not sure if it works though.

As hard as it would be to understand and be able to use the Infinte Engine Editor.

People, people... you want a familiar? you should have just said so...

right, u can do this with wotever class... first you need to have the scroll of find familiar.
u then have more than 2 potions(any potion would do).
then u select to drink that potion. but u do not return to the game.
u swap the places of the potion and the scroll.

when u go bak to the game, wotever class you are, your character(main) will start to read a spell...

then ur familiar appears and its all yours...
