See if you can work this out.

"A guy goes to work on the 17th floor of a building Monday to Friday. On some days he gets in the lift at ground floor and goes all the way to the 17th floor. On other days he has to get the lift from ground floor to the 10th floor, where he gets out and takes the stairs for the next 7.

Why does he do this?"

Because he can't reach the buttons so he has to let somebody else push them then get off where they do.

That lift is smelly on those other days and he can only stand it for ten floors?

Your answer is very close (a little too close!!!!!!) Are you sure you haven't heard this before???

Let me say that nobody else gets in the lift with him, just to clarify things a little better! So why can he get to the 17th floor on some days and not others?

I got it! He's Pinochio he can only reach the buttons on days he lies!
