I have tried and tried and tried to get my two computers networked following the windows help guide almost step by step but neither of the computers can sense each other on the network. Any help would be appreciated as I need to copy all the stuff from my old comp to new.

Azure check this site out for a bit of info. It's on cable but if you do process you will still get the two comps to recognise each other. Just make sure set the IP address of your hosts network card to 192.168.0.1 and the subnet to 255.255.255.0. Set client computer to 192.168.0.2 and subnet as 255.255.255.0 and it should find it considering you have instaled TCP/IP (if you haven't then you can't set the above addresses).
And also make sure to allow file and/or printer sharing on both machines also. Then right click on the folders you want, select sharing and it should show up on the other comp.

heh bugger that! Networking is too simple to want to waste money on a book regardless of the price. Not to mention that there are way too many good guides on the net to get it all working for you ;)

If you are networking by connecting a single cable between the two pc's you need to make sure you have a crossed network cable. If you have a hub between them then there is no problem. If you just grab a regular networking cable and plug the two pc's together with it they won't see each other. If you do the same thing with a crossed network cable they will. If you plug each pc into a hub they will also see eachother. This is assuming that you have your OS set up right.
