Hello Everybody! Im new here at IW, in fact I just got my registration. anyway, the main reason that I've wanted to join here is that I'm having a terrible problem with my BG2:SoA and I want to ask some professional assistance. I can't seem to talk with NPC's like the Lesser Clay Golem (for example)at the very beginning of the game. I've found the activation stone that he wanted but everytime I want to talk to it, there appears in my console window "can't initiate dialog Lesser Clay Golem appears to be busy." Now I can't open the door that leads to the thing with tentacles and stuff (Guardian). Anyway, everything will go fine once I re-loaded a game. I can talk to the Golem again, but once I get passed the guardian, the problem seems to appear somewhere else like when I try to talk to the Dryads, or when I've gotten out of Irenicus dungeon in Atkathla there are numerous NPC's there that I can't talk to. This seems to be such a pain and I can't seem to finish the game this way. I've finished this game once before and I don't remember having this kind of problem. Then I was using windows ME now Im using windows XP, I don't really know if this is related to my problem in anyway. Anyway, tnx for any help that anyone can give me, I'm not really good with computers except with games. I think IW is the best!

I rather suspect this belongs in the BG2 forum. ;)

Install the official patch, this will fix the problem.

download the latest patch.
it's a known bug, with windows xp

If you haven't done so already, go to the BG@ forum and look at the newcomer thread written by Dundee Slaytern. In it are the links to the patches you need to get your game to run. Dundee is also a great source of (dare I say it) professional advice concerning gameplay. Posting your questions on the game in that forum will get you a flood of helpful advice.
