.....is that of the five people from Texas that I know, work with and socialise with here in New York, THREE are some of the finest human beings I know, and I have immense respect, admiration and love for them on a professional and personal level.

The other two I don't get to spend much time with, but are both incredibly gifted and skilled creative individuals who do nothing but represent that state with aplomb.

Just thought I'd pass that on. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Sounds like you have a point.. but you are forgetting one thing; George W. Bush. Apparantly, not only good things come from Texas. ;)

George W. Bush is originally from Kennebunkport, Maine, NOT Texas. Don't palm THAT off on us.

And please, can we have a discussion on any topic on this board that doesn't degenerate into political-bashing? SHEESH.

Ah Saz. I was just kidding. Serieusly, you should hear all the jokes about Dutch politicians ;)
Did you know there are actually George W. Bush action figures that yell stuff like 'I'm from Texas'

I know several people in Texas and they're pretty darn nice for the most part! :D

PS: Yorick are these people that you work with in music? Or are they support staff you've met or run into or just friends of friends? Sounds like you've made new friends in any case!

Let's not forget all those wonderful Enron folks, what a bunch of good eggs. Especially the way they drove countless businesses in California into bankruptcy though energy market manipulation. Go Texas!

LOL, thanks, Yorick. We have some pretty strong teraditions down here, and civility is one. Oh, and George W. is very popular down here, regardless of what you lefties think. ;)

Exactly, Attalus...a trait, BTW, sorely lacking in several members of this board, who would do well to cultivate it.

Which is just a little bit sad because Iraqi used to be a people with a very rich culture. Then that asshat Saddam came and ruined everything, and we all know that it is the Iraqi people who will suffer the brunt of the war.

I would be so much more positive to the war effort if I had confidence that the US would take responsibility to oversee the creation of a stable government and rely less on bomber planes to win the war.
