I got this game last year and finished the first dungeon and abandoned the game for some reason... found the game and gonna try it again

1)Should i make a party entirely by me (using modem create or something)
2)do multi classed characters get to top level in both classes? because if they do shouldnt they be way better then the normal class because the kits dont seem that great...
3)Same thing but Dual class
4)Which are better, Sorcerers or mages?
5)Are specialist mages worth it? you lose a whole school...
6)The shapeshifter druid looks pretty cool, being able to be a greater werewolf at level 13? Is shapeshifter good?
7)If i create all my own characters (At least for beggining) What would be a good party combo

Thank you for your time
i know its many questions but i dont want to get into the game until i know i have a good party

Next to your questions.

1.)Not yet. Go through the game a few times first. But making your whole party is kinda cool. :D

2.)No, the XP is divided by both classes. So you can only reach the regular cap. Multi classes arn't bad I guess, but I don't like them for a PC.

3.)Dual Classing is way different. If you start out as a fighter and dual to a thief, you can't progress as a fighter anymore. Only as a theif. You get your fighter's abilities once your thief reaches the fighters level. (did that make any sense?)

4.)Sorcerers. But if its your first time, I recommend the regular mage first.

5.)Yes, while they lose a school, they gain a extra spell per level. Which IMHO is worth it.

6.)I have never tried it. Sorry. :(

7.)A thief, a paladin, a mage, a cleric, a good fighter, and your choice. Maybe a multi class mage/cleric too give you more spells.

Don't worry about it. Have fun with the game and more importantly...

Have fun at IW!

EDIT: Opps! You're right andrewas. My bad, just wasn't thinking.

Sir Mandorallen got most of it right, but :

2) No, your total XP can progress to the cap, which is divided among all your classes. So you cant get to top level with a multi class.

6) I played one once and it was kinda cool, but it was an MP game that never got past Irenicus Dungeon before it broke up so I cant say whether or not hell be useful later on.

Okay thanks
Still waiting to see if anyone's played a shapeshifter through the whole game.
I dont like the characters i start with though :\
and i have a sorcerer played like 1 hour and he gets very few spells like 1 level 4 and 1 level 5 spell.

One last question, do werewolfs or greater werewolfs gain life for killing or hitting units? I mean they are lycanthropy

Here, Let me try and help ya!

1. No, it takes away some of the quests and therefore less experiance.

2. No, the total of the 2 or 3 classes must equal the experiance cap or less.

3. Same as multi :D

4. Mages because you can have more spells.

5. Only if you use Necromacy as your specialty. Most of the opposite schools spells aren't that good.

6. YES! I love being them, but I would start off playing with an easier main char.

7. Dual/Multi class mage cleric (this being your choice)
Theif
Fighter/Paladin
Ranger
Mage
Theif

Hope that helps ya!

Thanks all
I think im going to create 2 of my own characters at the beggining, me being a necro mage and my shapeshifter friend

Tell me if this is really stupid

And what are the best races for a shapeshifter and a mage?

Ne 06-24-2002 06:48 PM

Oh and what should my stats be for each?
should my party leader have 18 charisma?

I think making 2 of your own should work pretty good! A high Charisma helps you lead a party of mixed alignments better, but for the mage you should also have high wisdom and intelligence. I'm not sure what is best to have for the shapeshifter though.

Hope this helps
EDIT Where in Canada are ya?

is necromancy really the best school?

Sir Goulum 06-24-2002 06:59 PM

Trust me. Or if you still aren't sure, Multi-Class Mage/Cleric. You are a god at high levels with that.
